“Tour Selection” – Women’s Artistic November 13 – 15th , 2009 Mississauga, Ontario
The Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club had two of its Competitive Artistic Team members attend the “Tour Selection” Competition this past weekend held at the Hersey Centre hosted by Gymnastics Mississauga.
Athletes at this competition were trying to earn a spot on the Ontario Team which travels to California in February. There were 55 athletes competing for 8 spots on the team. This was Kaleigh’s 2nd year trying to earn a spot on the team. Unfortunately, due to a previous foot injury and some unfortunate mistakes on one event she missed out on earning a spot on the team by .95 points. This is Jasmine’s first year in this level and age category. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and the great start to the season.
Kaleigh and Jasmine are coached by Courtney Billy and Kim Poole.

The Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club Competitive Artistic Team attended their 1st Women’s Artistic Provincial Qualifier this past weekend in Pickering held at the Pickering Athletic Centre hosted by the Pickering Gymnastics Club. The girls came home with a total of 20 medals as well as all of them placing in the top 6 in their divisions overall!
**This is Taylor’s first year as a Provincial level gymnast.

The Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club Competitive Artistic Team attended their 2nd Women’s Artistic Provincial Qualifier this past weekend in Oshawa hosted by the Gemini Gymnastics Club.
The girls came home with a total of 13 medals as well as all of them placing in the top 11th in their divisions overall!

“ONTARIO CUP CHAMPIONSHIPS” Ottawa Gymnastics Club Ottawa March 26 - 28, 2010 "BARRIE KEMPETTES GYMNASTS qualify for ONTARIO CHAMPSIONSHIPS”
Two gymnasts from the Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club Competitive Artistic Team attended the Ontario Cup Championships for Level 7’s this past weekend in Ottawa hosted by the Ottawa Gymnastics Club.
*Jasmine received an award for the “Most Artistic Gymnast on Beam”. *Jasmine has now qualified for the “ONTARIO CHAMPIONSHPS for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics” which will be held in St. Catherines on April 23 - 25, 2010. *This is Jasmine’s first time qualifying for the Championships in the Level 7 Division.
*Kaleigh received an award for the “Most Dynamic Tumbler on Floor”. * Kaleigh has now qualified for the “ONTARIO CHAMPIONSHPS for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics” which will be held in St. Catherines on April 23 - 25, 2010. * Kaleigh has also qualified for 3 Event Finals (Bars, Beam & Floor) for the “ONTARIO CHAMPIONSHIPS” … the top 8 on each event will compete to see who is the BEST on that event in the province in her division.

THREE gymnasts from the Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club Competitive Artistic Team attended the Ontario Cup Championships for Level 5 & 6’s this past weekend in Windsor hosted by the Rose City Gymnastics Club.
*All three gymnasts have now qualified for the “ONTARIO CHAMPIONSHIPS” for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics which will be held in St. Catherines on April 23 - 25, 2010. *This is Rachel, Hailee and Jessica’s first time qualifying for the Championships! *The Barrie Kempettes now have 5 gymnasts competing at the Championships representing Barrie.
“EASTERN CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS” Women’s Artistic May 6 - 9, 2010 Mississauga
BKGC GYMNAST ... KALEIGH POTTS WINS THE MEET!!
Kaleigh Potts traveled to Mississauga this past weekend to compete at the Eastern Canadian Championships. She qualified as a member of the Ontario Open 3 Team at the Ontario Championships in April by placing 2nd All Around. Kaleigh placed 1st on Vault, 5th on Bars, 1st on Beam and 1st on Floor to win the become the All Around Eastern Canadian Champion!! This is the first time Kaleigh has qualified for the Championships ... it is the first time in club history that an artistic athlete qualified to compete not alone WIN the meet!! The Ontario Team also, took the top 4 spots on the podium to WIN GOLD in the TEAM competition. Gymnasts were from the Eastern provinces ... Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland.
“Spring Cup Invitational” – Women’s Artistic May14 - 16, 2010 Burlington Athletes from the Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club traveled to Burlington this past weekend to compete at the Burlington Gymnastics Club’s Annual Spring Cup.
The girls came home with …22 GOLD MEDALS, 24 SILVER MEDALS and 11 BRONZE MEDALS!! What an accomplishment!!
*Jessica Turza received a special Judges award for having the “Best Form & Toe point on Beam”.
*Jessica, Hailee and Rachel all moved up a Level for this competition …so this was the first time they have competed at the Level 6 division.
*Kaleigh moved up to Level 8 for this competition …so this was her first time at this level as well.
