What is the Gymnastics Ontario/BKGC Admin Fee?
Barrie Kempettes is a member of Gymnastics Ontario and is charged for this. This charge is an annual fee (July 1st - June 30th). This membership means that your child is also a member of Gymnastics Ontario.
Athlete - $57.00
Parent (For participants in Gym Babies, Bouncing Babies, Parent n Tots, Jumping Juniors & Primary) - $34.00
Are there any age restrictions?
Children must be the correct age for the selected program or 30 days after the session begins. A birth certificate may be requested to verify the child's age.
Can I stay and watch my child ?
Yes! We have an Upstairs viewing area on the Main Gym and FlipSide.
No food or drink allowed. Noise levels should be kept low and small children must be well supervised and kept from wandering.
Please be considerate of others. No running around, playing with hockey sticks, rolling balls or toys, rough play, climbing, jumping or gymnastics.
Please DO NOT move the sofas.
NO CHAIRS ALLOWED IN THE UPSTAIRS VIEWING AREA, FOR SAFETY REASONS, please DO NOT bring your own chair.
Can I take pictures?
The BKGC will no longer allow picture taking or video taping during our programs. This is an effort to preserve people's rights to privacy and is in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
How do I register ?
All registration is encouraged to take place ONLINE through our Uplifter System https://barriekempettes.uplifterinc.com/. You will be required to create an account (under parent/guardian's name) and then add your child(ren) as the participant.
If you wish to have assistance with your registration, we ask that you email the Main Office at barriekempettes@csolve.net or give us a call at 705-726-0370.
Please note that when registering you will be charged a Mandatory Fundraising Fee, which is 1 Kash for Kempettes ticket per session.
Is Financial Assistance available?
For families requesting assistance in paying for registration fees, please visit the Kidsport and Jumpstart websites for more information.
Is there a sibling discount?
Yes! A 10% sibling discount will be applied on 2 or more children and will be based on the lowest program fee. Family discounts do not apply to pro-rated fees or day camps.
Is there a transfer fee?
A $35 Transfer Fee will be charged should you wish to switch programs. This must be paid for prior to your child being moved.
What are the payment options?
Payments can be made by Cash, E-Transfer, Visa, MasterCard

What is the refund policy?
(GO/BKGC Admin Fees/Fundraisers are non-refundable)
For Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer Evening Programs, you will receive a full refund less a $35.00 administration fee if your request is received in the main office, in writing, 1 week prior to the start of the first class. If you decide to cancel less than 1 week before the first class, you will receive a 50% refund of the program cost. No refunds will be issued once the 2nd class has started. Classes may be cancelled due to low registration. You will be offered a full refund, a transfer into another class based on its availability or a credit note. Once program have started, if the final registration numbers are insufficient to continue running the program, you will be given the choice to switch into another time slot/day or accept a credit note/refund for the program fee only, that will be pro-rated. We cannot make up classes or issue refunds/credit notes that are cancelled due to inclement weather or for reasons beyond our control. If you are cancelling due to medical reasons, a written note accompanied by a doctor's note must be submitted to the main office in order to receive a pro-rated refund of the program most and must be received prior to the completion of the current session in which you are registered for. Medical refunds are based on the date your written notice was received, not back to the last day the child attended class. No credits or refunds will be issued for missed classes.
What should my child wear?
All female gymnasts are encouraged to wear a one-piece body suit however, t-shirts and shorts are acceptable.
Male gymnasts are asked to wear sport shorts and T-shirt (tucked in). Clothing that is tightly fitted is preferred so gymnasts are not concerned about clothing falling off while they are swinging or upside-down.
No skating dresses, body suits with skirts, skirts, jeans, shorts or pants with belts, buckles or zippers.
Bare feet or non slip socks. No gymnastic slippers, stockings or ballet slippers are necessary.
Long hair must be tied back during class.
Absolutely NO jewellery (including friendship bracelets) to be worn. Hoop earrings MUST be removed prior to class or be taped. Studs are acceptable. If your child wears a medical alert ID, leave it on and we will tape it on for safety.
What to except when dropping your child off at their first day at the BKGC ?
Plan to show up 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your child's class, dressed ready to go!
Athletes are to come dressed and ready for their class. Main Gym Athletes/Parents will enter and exiting using the Main Gym (Unit #6) front doors.
FlipSide Athletes/Parents will enter and exit using the FlipSide (unit #7) front doors.
Shoes will need to be removed and placed in their designated area..
Athletes are to wait in the lobbies of their facility for their coach to come and get them for attendance.
Parents are expected to be in the main lobby or outside the front of the facility for dismissal. Athletes will NOT be dismissed until a parents/guardian are seen. $1.00/ minute will be charged after 10 minutes after the duration of the program for childcare fees.
